My Volcanic Footprints

Research Interest

I am a volcanologist from Taiwan. My master thesis integrates high-precision 40Ar/39Ar geochronology, high-resolution LiDAR geomorphology, and mineral chemistry to reconstruct the eruptive history and magmatic evolution of Huangzuei volcano in Taiwan. I am particularly interested in how a volcano changes its eruptive style from effusive to explosive and how it relates to pre-eruptive dynamic processes. Specific topics are as below:
  • Volcanology: Transition of explosive and effusive eruptions
  • Igneous Petrology: Diffusion modeling
  • Geomorphology: 3D LiDAR mapping
